Job Purpose:

The AV Architect leads the design and strategic direction of enterprise audio visual systems across meeting rooms, collaboration spaces, event environments, and digital communication platforms. The role ensures AV solutions are scalable, secure, intuitive, and aligned with organisational technology standards. It combines deep technical expertise with architectural thinking, influencing both current deployments and long term AV strategy.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Design — Create end‑to‑end AV architectures covering conferencing, presentation systems, digital signage, control systems, room automation, and AV‑over‑IP.
  • Technical Documentation — Produce system schematics, signal flow diagrams, equipment specifications, and room standards.
  • Technology Strategy & Roadmapping — Evaluate emerging AV and UC technologies, define standards, and guide long‑term investment decisions.
  • Integration & Interoperability — Ensure seamless integration with enterprise networks, UC platforms (Teams/Zoom/Webex), identity systems, and building technologies (BMS, occupancy sensors).
  • Project Leadership — Support project delivery from concept through commissioning, collaborating with IT, facilities, construction, and external integrators.
  • Quality Assurance — Oversee testing, tuning, and acceptance processes; resolve complex AV issues and ensure consistent user experience.
  • Governance & Compliance — Establish AV design guidelines, naming conventions, security requirements, and lifecycle management practices.
  • Stakeholder & Vendor Engagement — Partner with manufacturers, integrators, and internal teams to ensure alignment with design intent and operational needs.
  • Knowledge Transfer — Maintain documentation, standards libraries, and provide guidance to support and operations teams.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong background in AV system design, acoustics, DSP configuration, control programming (Crestron/AMX/Extron), and AV‑over‑IP (Dante, NDI, SDVoE).
  • Deep understanding of UC ecosystems, especially Microsoft Teams Rooms and Zoom Rooms.
  • Solid grasp of networking fundamentals including VLANs, QoS, multicast, and security.
  • Experience producing architectural documentation using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Visio.
  • Proven ability to lead complex AV projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Industry certifications such as CTS‑D/CTS‑I, Crestron, Q‑Sys, or Dante are highly desirable.
